I was inspired with this Chinese Ma Po Tofu recipe. Unfortunately I only had time to go to Trader Joe’s and they don’t sell ground pork, so I went with ground beef. Then I didn’t have time to make it for a couple days, which was the fortunate thing, because my MIL came to visit and showed me how to make the real thing family style!
Happy 2010! On New Year’s Eve, RC surprised me with this beautiful Chicken Pot Pie (from scratch!) for dinner. It was so good, I had to share it with you all. We would love to hear how you celebrated!
A couple months ago, I went to a chinese restaurant in San Diego where I had some silken tofu stuffed with pork and deep fried. The tofu was so delicate on the inside and crispy on the outside. It made for a terrific meal on it’s own, and I would have if I wasn’t with 5 other people :). So when Iron Chef Irvine’s Champion of last month’s wine challenge, Mark Wagner announced that this month’s challenge would be “SOY”, my tummy’s memory zipped back to that silken tofu dish I had.
